Maria Responds

In mid-April, the Boston Herald broke a front-page story about the Massachusetts Government sponsored and funded website for teenagers, MariaTalks.com, and its cavalier attitude about abortion. In fact, the website said it was “easier than you think” and listed “temporary discomfort” as the only side effect. The story has gone national, with the Drudge Report having linked it and Glenn Beck speaking about it.

Rep. Marc Lombardo Speaks Out

In response, a bipartisan group of state representatives led by Reps. Marc Lombardo (R-Billerica) and Colleen Garry (D-Dracut) called on the Department of Public Health to pull the plug on the website with a strongly worded Maria Talks Letter to the Governor.

Catholic Citizenship's Bea Martins responded in this televised interview.

Now we need your help.  The Massachusetts Government, whether it be Governor Patrick or the Legislature, should move immediately to shut down this website. An investigation should be launched into its funding, as well as the approval and oversight process that was in place.

Please CALL Governor Deval Patrick—888.870.7770—and ask him to shut down this website. Explain that the content on the website deliberately downplays the risks, both psychological and physical, of abortion, and wrongly counsels minor girls on how to obtain an abortion without parental consent.
